Trains and boats and planes – Getting to the Walton Arts Festival

Well, the planes might be going a bit far and are not particularly ‘green’, but just think of all the ways you can be at Walton Arts Festival September 20-22nd.

If you’re really local, walking is the obvious choice, but then climbing aboard the push bike is a great option if you’re a little bit further away.

There are buses, of course, which are handy if you’re coming from the Clacton, Thorpe and Colchester directions. There’s a bus every 20 minutes from Clacton and every hour from Colchester.

And there are trains providing a quick and easy link from Colchester and various villages down the line. Both buses and trains drop you off in the heart of the town.

On Sunday, with more events happening up at The Naze, it’s a pleasant walk along the shore to get to the Tower.

The other alternative is to take a cab! Kirby Kabs (01255 833441. Email: kirbykabs2018@gmail.com) are one of our sponsors and will happily ferry you or a group of you to the event. Club together for the trip, avoid driving and parking, and save a pretty penny while enjoying all the benefits Walton has to offer over the weekend.

Of course, if you’re across the water in Suffolk, you can moor up in Titchmarsh Marina for a few hours if you want to come and join us by boat.

To make things easier for you, download a map and programme from the Festival Website. www.waltonartsfestival.com. For more detail on buses, trains, food, accommodation, wheelchair access etc, please go to the Your Visit page of our website.
